Of 97 healthcare B2B vendor homepages we checked on 21 October 2026, 42 run on WordPress and 22 on Webflow. Fifteen more are built in code on a JavaScript framework, and only five run on HubSpot CMS. Across the whole web, W3Techs puts WordPress on 58.3% of sites with a known CMS and Webflow on 1.2%, so health tech uses Webflow at many times its web-wide rate.
This page sets our check against W3Techs share by site rank, HTTP Archive field speed by platform, the HIPAA terms each platform publishes and one vendor survey on who runs the website. Every figure carries its source and date. We build marketing sites in Webflow, so the bias is stated; the counts are what each site's own code shows.
What 97 health tech vendors run their websites on
No one publishes a census of healthcare website platforms. W3Techs reports share by traffic rank, not by industry, and BuiltWith's technology pages showed a verification wall when we tried them on 21 October 2026. So we built a sample.
Method. We listed 97 vendors that sell software or services to hospitals, practices, payers, employers and life sciences companies: EHR and practice management, revenue cycle, patient access, clinical AI, data and interoperability, virtual care, payer technology and clinical trial software. It is a judgement sample, not a random one, and it leans towards US vendors. On 21 October 2026 we fetched each homepage and its /blog path with an ordinary browser request and read the HTML and response headers for platform fingerprints: Webflow's page attributes, WordPress's wp-content paths, generator tags, Next.js and Nuxt build files, and the image hosts of headless CMSs. athenahealth refused the plain request and was read through a rendering proxy. R1 RCM, Arcadia and Sword Health served a bot-protection page either way and are counted as not identified.
| Platform | Homepages | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| WordPress | 42 | eClinicalWorks, ModMed, Waystar, Availity, Phreesia, Redox, Veeva |
| Webflow | 22 | Abridge, Cedar, NexHealth, Innovaccer, Health Catalyst, Spring Health, Medable |
| JavaScript framework (Next.js, Nuxt, React Router, Docusaurus) | 14 | Epic, Hinge Health, SimplePractice, Benchling, Candid Health, Suki |
| Custom front end with a headless CMS | 1 | Machinify (Sanity) |
| HubSpot CMS | 5 | FinThrive, Luma Health, Smile Digital Health, Omada Health, Edifecs |
| Framer | 3 | AKASA, Ambience Healthcare, Doxy.me |
| Drupal | 2 | athenahealth, MEDITECH |
| Sitecore, Adobe Experience Manager, Optimizely | 3 | NextGen Healthcare, Teladoc Health, Amwell |
| Craft CMS | 1 | Wheel |
| Custom static build | 1 | Veradigm |
| Not identified, bot protection | 3 | R1 RCM, Arcadia, Sword Health |

Two of the framework sites, Tebra and Weave, pull content from WordPress behind a Next.js front end. Counted that way, 44 of the 97 vendors use WordPress somewhere in the stack. Among the headless builds, Sanity feeds five sites and Contentful three. The homepage is not always the whole site either: Innovaccer serves a Webflow homepage and a Next.js blog, and Candid Health's old domain still serves a Webflow page that points to its new Nuxt site.
Clinical AI picks Webflow, patient access kept WordPress
The split by product category is sharper than the overall count. We grouped the 97 vendors into eight segments.
| Segment | Vendors | WordPress | Webflow | Framework or headless | Other packaged CMS | Custom or not identified |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EHR and practice management | 17 | 7 | 1 | 5 | 3 | 1 |
| Revenue cycle and payments | 13 | 6 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 1 |
| Patient access and engagement | 12 | 8 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| Clinical AI and documentation | 13 | 3 | 7 | 2 | 1 | 0 |
| Data and interoperability | 15 | 7 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 1 |
| Virtual care and employer health | 13 | 4 | 1 | 2 | 5 | 1 |
| Payer technology | 6 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| Life sciences software | 8 | 4 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 0 |
| All | 97 | 42 | 22 | 15 | 14 | 4 |

Clinical AI. Abridge, DeepScribe, Nabla, Freed, Rad AI, Corti and Commure run Webflow; Ambience runs Framer; Suki and Heidi Health run framework builds on Sanity. Aidoc, Viz.ai and Hippocratic AI are the WordPress exceptions.
EHR and practice management. The oldest segment has the heaviest stacks. athenahealth and MEDITECH run Drupal, NextGen runs Sitecore, and Epic runs Next.js. Healthie is the only Webflow site among 17 EHR vendors.
Patient access. Phreesia, Artera, Kyruus Health, Solutionreach, Qventus, LeanTaaS, Relatient and Clearwave run WordPress. NexHealth and Notable are on Webflow, and Luma Health on HubSpot CMS.
Virtual care and employer health is the most scattered: 12 readable homepages on eight platforms, including Adobe Experience Manager at Teladoc Health and Optimizely at Amwell.
Web-wide share against the healthcare count
W3Techs reports each CMS's share of the sites where it can identify one, broken down by traffic rank. Our sample counts homepages only, and W3Techs does not count a Next.js front end as a CMS, so the comparison is rough. It still shows how far health tech sits from the web as a whole.
| Platform | All sites with a known CMS | Top 1,000,000 | Top 10,000 | Healthcare B2B homepages, of 97 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| WordPress | 58.3% | 48.3% | 50.7% | 42, or 44 with headless use |
| Webflow | 1.2% | 1.5% | 2.3% | 22 |
| Drupal | 0.9% | 3.7% | 6.7% | 2 |
| HubSpot CMS | 0.2% | 1.0% | 1.1% | 5 |
| Framer | 0.3% | Not used here | Not used here | 3 |

WordPress runs 43% of the healthcare sample, below its web-wide share but close to its top-million share. Webflow runs 23%, about fifteen times its share of the top million. With 97 sites, read the counts as direction, not precise share.
Our Legal Tech Website Platform and CMS Statistics 2026 post ran the same check on 80 legal-tech vendors and found Webflow on 21 and WordPress on 20. Health tech is more WordPress-heavy: half of its WordPress homepages, 21 of 42, belong to revenue cycle, patient access and data vendors. The B2B SaaS Website Platform and CMS Statistics 2026 post found 53 framework homepages in the Forbes Cloud 100; healthcare has 15 of 97.
HIPAA terms by platform
A healthcare buyer's security review often asks where the website stores what visitors type. The answer differs by platform, and three of them publish it.
| Platform | Published position | Where it says so |
|---|---|---|
| Webflow | Customers agree not to provide protected health information through the platform; Webflow says it does not offer HIPAA-compliant services | Terms of Service, section 3.6, effective 15 November 2023 |
| Webflow | Not HIPAA compliant by default; can sit alongside compliant back ends for regulated use | Webflow security page, read 21 October 2026 |
| Framer | Not designed to comply with HIPAA; not to be used for HIPAA-regulated data | Framer help centre, updated 15 September 2026 |
| HubSpot | Signs a business associate agreement as Annex I of its Sensitive Data Terms, for covered features | HubSpot Sensitive Data Terms, read 21 October 2026 |
| HubSpot | Sensitive Data, including the HIPAA setting, is available on Enterprise subscriptions only | HubSpot knowledge base, updated 21 September 2026 |
| WordPress | Open-source software, so any agreement comes from the host and each form plugin | Not a published platform position |

What this means in practice. A marketing page that collects a hospital buyer's work email is not, on its face, handling patient data. The platform question bites when the site carries a patient-facing form, a symptom checker or a portal login for a client. On Webflow or Framer, those pieces have to live in a separate system covered by its own agreement. Our Healthcare B2B Landing Page Statistics 2026 post covers the HHS tracking bulletin and the 2024 court ruling. This is not legal advice.
HubSpot runs the CRM, rarely the website
HubSpot CMS runs 0.2% of sites with a known CMS, rising to 1.0% of the top million (W3Techs, 21 October 2026). In our sample it runs five homepages: FinThrive, Luma Health, Smile Digital Health, Omada Health and Edifecs.
HubSpot as a CRM is another matter. Its tracking, forms or banner scripts appear in the homepage HTML of 42 of the 94 vendors we could read: 20 on WordPress, 13 on Webflow, five on HubSpot CMS and four on other platforms. Marketo's scripts appear on 11 homepages and Salesforce's Pardot on eight. These are floors: scripts loaded through a tag manager do not show in the HTML.
The tag picture is just as telling. Google's tag or tag manager appears on 84 of the 94 homepages, LinkedIn's Insight Tag on 20, and Meta's pixel on only five. A named consent tool, most often OneTrust, appears on 44. Health tech marketers buy on LinkedIn and search, and most keep Meta's pixel off the page that buyers land on.
Field speed by platform in the top million
The HTTP Archive pairs Chrome's real-user data with technology detection. An origin passes when at least 75% of real visits are good on loading, responsiveness and layout stability. Treat the top-million cut as a base rate for each platform, not a healthcare benchmark.
| Platform | Top 1M origins measured | Top 1M pass rate | All origins pass rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drupal | 11,658 | 58.6% | 64.7% |
| WordPress | 110,537 | 50.1% | 48.3% |
| Webflow | 2,635 | 49.8% | 71.3% |
| HubSpot CMS Hub | 704 | 45.2% | 60.0% |
| Framer Sites | 359 | 42.3% | 70.8% |
| Sanity | 1,043 | 35.3% | 52.4% |
| Sitecore | 1,732 | 34.5% | 39.3% |
| Adobe Experience Manager | 4,542 | 33.2% | 33.9% |
| Contentful | 2,259 | 28.0% | 38.1% |
| Next.js | 39,764 | 25.5% | 35.7% |
| Nuxt.js | 11,470 | 20.7% | 28.8% |

Webflow, WordPress, HubSpot and Framer sit between 42% and 50% in the top million. The enterprise platforms that NextGen and Teladoc Health use, Sitecore and Adobe Experience Manager, sit near a third. Next.js and Nuxt, the stacks behind Epic, Hinge Health and Candid Health, sit between 20% and 26%. The Next.js and Nuxt figures include logged-in web apps, not only marketing sites, and none of these rates proves a platform causes the result: the tag stack, images and chat widget added after launch decide most outcomes.
Who owns the website: the survey data
Platform choice is also an ownership choice. Webflow's 2026 State of the Website report, a vendor-commissioned survey run by Vanson Bourne in June and July 2025, asked 1,000 leaders, 700 in marketing and 300 in technical roles, at organisations of 50 or more staff in the US, UK and Canada. Healthcare made up 4.6% of respondents, so there is no usable healthcare cut; treat it as a general proxy.
| Platform type | Struggled to deliver on time | Struggled to stay on budget |
|---|---|---|
| Custom build | 60% | 66% |
| Traditional CMS | 49% | 51% |
| Headless CMS | 45% | 65% |
| Digital experience platform | 41% | 50% |

In the same survey, 93% of marketing leaders say they are at least somewhat reliant on developers, agencies or outside expertise to change the website, and 91% of technical leaders report friction with non-technical teams over site changes. Read these as a vendor's framing: Webflow sells the marketer-owned model.
What this means for a Healthcare B2B site: a five-page platform test
The 97 vendors show three working models: WordPress, a visual builder run largely by marketing, and a coded front end run by engineers. The counts do not tell you which fits your team. Before committing, we would rebuild five pages on the candidate platform and judge it on them, not on a demo.
1. Homepage. The heaviest page, with the analytics tags, consent banner and logo wall of health systems. Measure mobile Core Web Vitals with the real tag stack loaded, against the 49.8% to 50.1% top-million base rate for Webflow and WordPress.
2. One solution page per buyer. "For health systems", "for payers" and "for employers" are the templates health tech repeats most. Time how long a marketer takes to publish a second copy without a developer.
3. Integrations page. Epic, Oracle Health and athenahealth integrations are usually a CMS collection with logos and status. Check that the collection model holds every field you need.
4. Security and compliance page. SOC 2, HITRUST and your HIPAA position change often and need sign-off. Check version history and reviewer roles, and state which systems hold any patient data.
5. Demo request. The form and its HubSpot, Marketo or Salesforce connection, tested end to end with no clinical fields, since 42 of 94 readable homepages already load HubSpot. If a client-facing form ever needs patient data, move it to a system covered by an agreement.
In our own work, as a white-label partner to Web Tonic, we built more than 20 Webflow sites in twelve months at two to three weeks each, and the largest CMS held over 1,200 items. We build marketing sites in Webflow and applications in Next.js, and we quote each build per project. Our marketing websites service page explains how we scope a healthcare B2B site.
