One app holds 46.5% of every install in Webflow's SEO app category, and it is Google site tools for Webflow, a free connector that shows Analytics and Search Console data inside the Designer. We counted the 53 apps the marketplace files under SEO on 21 October 2026. The other 52 share the rest, and 29 of them have fewer than 100 installs.
That number says something useful before you buy anything: most of what a Webflow site needs for SEO is already in the platform, and the real gaps are filled by a crawler and Google's own free tools, not by an app. This page sets out the native settings, the app category by job, and the paid audits we would pay for, with prices and limits taken from each vendor's own page in October 2026.
Start with what Webflow already does
The first tool on any list is the platform itself. Our posts Is Webflow Good for SEO and The Webflow SEO Checklist cover what each setting does and the order we apply them in. Here we only need the inventory, because it decides what is left for an app or a crawler.
| Tool | What it does | Plan needed | What it misses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Page SEO settings | Title tag, meta description, Open Graph, per page and per Collection template | Paid Site plan | Length and duplicate checks |
| Audit panel | Sitewide or page checks: alt text, meta titles, meta descriptions, schema, four accessibility checks | Paid Site or Workspace plan | Components, lightboxes and CMS images; colour contrast |
| Webflow AI for SEO and AEO | Generates alt text in bulk, and titles, descriptions and schema page by page | Paid plan, AI toggle on, uses AI credits | Fields that already hold content |
| Schema markup field | JSON-LD per page, with CMS fields bound on Collection pages | Paid Site or Workspace plan | Reference, Multi-reference and Multi-image fields |
| Sitemap | Automatic XML sitemap with a lastmod date for every page since August 2026 | Paid Site or Workspace plan | Nothing for a normal marketing site |
| Robots.txt and llms.txt | Crawler rules and an llms.txt file at the root, under 100 KB | Paid Site or Workspace plan | llms.txt is not published to staging |
| 301 redirects | Redirect rules in Site settings | Paid Site plan | Checking that each target is live |
| Analyze add-on | Traffic, clickmaps and page insights | From $9 a month, by sessions | Search queries; that is Search Console's job |

Two of these changed recently enough that older roundups miss them. The sitemap now carries a lastmod timestamp per page, can use the canonical domain, and updates when a single page is published, according to Webflow's August 2026 update. Google's own sitemap guidance says it uses lastmod only when it is "consistently and verifiably" accurate, so the change helps most on sites where editors publish real updates rather than touching every page. And the schema field means structured data no longer has to live in custom code, though Webflow says existing custom-code schema keeps working.
The Audit panel and Webflow AI: useful, with blind spots
The Audit panel used to be an accessibility checker. It now also runs sitewide or on the current page, and for SEO and AEO it looks for four missing things: image alt text, meta titles, meta descriptions and schema markup. Its accessibility checks cover missing alt text, non-descriptive link text, skipped heading levels and duplicate element IDs.
What the AI does. From the panel, Webflow AI can generate alt text for every flagged image at once with one button. Titles, descriptions and schema are generated one page at a time from Page settings. Webflow's help article says the AI works from the page's content and general best practice, and asks you to review everything before publishing. The field must be empty: to regenerate, clear it first.
What it costs. These features consume Webflow AI credits. A Core or Freelancer Workspace includes 300 credits a month and Growth or Agency 400, with add-on packs of 2,000 credits at $25 a month, or $20 billed yearly. Webflow does not publish a rate card per action and says more complex tasks use more credits, so budget by trying it on one site first.
What it misses. The panel does not check alt text inside components, lightbox elements or the CMS. On a B2B site that is most of the images: logos in a client strip component, team photos in a Collection, blog thumbnails. It also checks for missing fields, not bad ones. A title that is 90 characters long, duplicated across ten pages or missing the keyword passes.
For schema, the native field has one limit that matters for resource libraries and case studies: Reference, Multi-reference and Multi-image fields cannot be bound into it. If your case study schema needs the client name from a referenced Collection, you will either copy that value into a plain text field or keep the schema in a code embed.
The SEO app category in numbers
We read the marketplace's own page data on 21 October 2026 and grouped the 53 SEO apps by the job each listing describes. Install counts are the marketplace's record; Webflow does not define an install publicly, so treat them as relative. Our raw file is saved with this post's research.
| Job | Apps | Installs | Share of installs | Largest app (installs) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google data inside Webflow | 1 | 40,647 | 46.5% | Google site tools for Webflow |
| On-page audit and scoring | 9 | 33,859 | 38.8% | Semflow SEO (15,310) |
| Schema markup | 2 | 2,958 | 3.4% | Schema Flow (2,323) |
| Alt text generation | 4 | 2,453 | 2.8% | Assetflow (1,127) |
| AI content that writes or publishes | 21 | 2,376 | 2.7% | Adaptify SEO (784) |
| Bulk metadata and Open Graph editing | 5 | 2,349 | 2.7% | BulkSEO (2,151) |
| Links, redirects and 404s | 5 | 1,989 | 2.3% | AutoLink.ai (1,000) |
| AI search visibility (AEO) | 5 | 258 | 0.3% | Profound (121) |

Three things stand out. Momentum is even more concentrated than the totals: of 1,289 installs in the category in the last 30 days, Google site tools took 992. The newest apps are mostly AI writers and AEO trackers, and 18 of the 53 carry a 2026 listing date, though 20 listings show no date at all. And the two jobs Webflow AI now does natively, schema and alt text, are the ones whose apps lose users fastest: uninstalls equal 22.8% of installs for schema apps and 21.9% for alt text apps, against 13.0% for the category.
Our post Webflow Apps a B2B Marketing Team Actually Needs covers the wider marketplace; this page goes one level deeper on the SEO category.
Which SEO apps earn a place
Google site tools for Webflow. Free, and the one most teams should install. The listing says it brings Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Search Console into the Designer, with data by page and a view of top pages and opportunities. It does not replace Search Console itself, which is still where you inspect URLs, submit the sitemap and see indexing problems.
Bulk metadata editors. Webflow's native settings are page by page. On a site with a few hundred CMS items, a tool such as BulkSEO, which edits SEO fields by CSV import and export, saves hours. Our largest Webflow CMS holds over 1,200 items, and at that size we would plan a bulk route before launch, either an app or the Webflow API.
On-page scorers. Semflow and FluidSEO have the installs, and both run inside Webflow. They are useful for an in-house marketer writing pages without an SEO lead. For a team that already runs a crawler and Search Console, they mostly repeat what those show.
Schema apps. Worth a look only if you need schema the native field cannot bind, such as values from Reference fields. Otherwise use the native field and check it in the Schema Markup Validator, as Webflow's own article recommends.
AI content that publishes itself. This is the biggest group and the one we would leave alone. Content that goes live without an editor reading it is the riskiest thing a marketing site can install, and the install counts suggest most teams agree.
The audits worth paying for
A crawler is the tool that sees the live site the way a search engine does: every status code, redirect chain, canonical, duplicate title and orphan page, across static and CMS pages alike. None of the Webflow apps does that as thoroughly, and the desktop crawlers cost less than most of them.
| Tool | Free tier | Paid from | Crawl limit | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Screaming Frog SEO Spider | Up to 500 URLs | $279 per user per year | 500 URLs free; listed as unlimited on a licence | Launch and migration checks |
| Sitebulb Lite | 14-day trial | $18 a month | 10,000 URLs per audit | Small teams who want explained hints |
| Sitebulb Pro | 14-day trial | $42 a month | 500,000 URLs per audit | Agencies, scheduled audits, PDF reports |
| Ahrefs Free | Free on verified sites | Paid Ahrefs plans | 5,000 crawl credits per project per month | Ongoing site audit plus backlink data |
| Semrush SEO plan | Free plan, limited | $139 a month, or $117.33 billed yearly | 5 sites monitored | Rank tracking and audits in one place |

Screaming Frog. The free version covers most marketing sites of under 500 URLs, which is a lot of Webflow builds. The licence pays for itself on the first migration, because it can crawl a list of old URLs and confirm every 301 lands on a live page. Our post Website Migration Without Losing Rankings walks through that check.
Sitebulb. The same job with more explanation. Its hints say why each issue matters, which suits a marketer who will act on the report without an SEO specialist. Lite's 10,000-URL cap per audit is generous for a B2B site.
Ahrefs Free. Ahrefs renamed Webmaster Tools to Ahrefs Free. It works on an unlimited number of verified sites and gives 5,000 crawl credits per project each month, counted only on HTML pages that return a 200. For a site owner who will not pay for an SEO suite, it is the best free audit available, and it adds backlink and keyword data, up to 1,000 rows at a time, that no crawler has.
Semrush. Worth it when rank tracking matters as much as the audit: the SEO plan monitors five sites and tracks 500 keywords. For one marketing site, Ahrefs Free plus Search Console covers most of that at no cost.
AEO tools: what is real and what is a bet
Answer engine optimisation is where Webflow has moved fastest. Its AEO product combines AEO analytics, which tracks brand mentions in AI answers, AI bot visits and AI-referred visitors, with AEO agents that scan the site and suggest fixes to metadata, schema, alt text and broken links. Agents never publish on their own: accepted changes go live on the next publish. The catch is the plan. AEO needs a Team or Enterprise Platform plan, analytics also needs the Analyze add-on, and Team is listed at $2,500 a month on an annual contract.
For everyone else, the native AEO tools are the llms.txt upload and the same Audit panel. Webflow's own help article calls llms.txt experimental and says its effect on AI search is unclear. We would add one, because it takes an hour, and not expect it to move anything.
The third-party AEO trackers in the marketplace are new and small: five apps with 258 installs between them. Semrush's paid plans now include AI visibility tracking too. Our view is to measure AI-referred traffic in the analytics you already have before paying for a tracker.
What this means for your Webflow SEO tool stack
Our bias first: we build marketing sites in Webflow, so we have a stake in its native tools looking sufficient. With that said, the stack below is what we would run, by site size.
| Site | Native | Free | Paid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 50 pages, no blog | SEO settings, Audit panel, schema field | Search Console, Google site tools, Screaming Frog free | None |
| 50 to 500 pages with a CMS | Same, plus Webflow AI for alt text | Same, plus Ahrefs Free | Screaming Frog licence or Sitebulb Lite |
| 500+ CMS items or a migration | Same | Same | Crawler, plus a bulk metadata route |
| Enterprise, AI search a priority | Team or Enterprise plan with AEO | Same | Analyze add-on, plus a rank tracker if needed |
Source: our recommendation, built from the prices and limits above
The pattern is the same at every size: let Webflow handle the settings, let Search Console tell you what Google sees, and pay for one crawler before you pay for any app. An app earns a place when it does a job the platform cannot, such as bulk edits on a large CMS. Our marketing websites service page explains how we set SEO up on the builds we deliver.
